Horizontal Tempering Process for Glass

During the horizontal tempering process, pressure is applied to the outer surfaces of the glass along with heating and cooling stages. This process induces indirect tensile stress on the middle of the glass. Fully tempered glass, as a result, is five times stronger than untreated glass and is suitable for use as safety glass. Its ability to separate into membrane-like pieces upon breakage reduces the risk of injuries.
